Jack's Room
Although Jack’s room was a reasonable sized double room, it appeared cramped, cluttered, dark and uninviting. The project involved turning this into a comfortable space for a young adult.
Jack is a young man living at home with his parents in Nottinghamshire, he has a full time Job and often works 7 days a week and like most young men has a passion for his music.
Although Jack’s room was a reasonable sized double room, it appeared cramped, cluttered, dark and uninviting. The walls, bedding and curtains were busy and overwhelming with too many patterns making it mismatched and distracting.
The dark green carpet led you to believe that the room was smaller than its actual size.
The room desperately needed a serious de-clutter and a lighter fresher outlook.
After removing all the unwanted items from this room, there was then enough existing storage for jack’s possessions. The wallpaper was removed and replaced with a neutral biscuit colour paper that harmonised with the new beige carpet.
New bed linen always makes a real difference to the appearance of a room, and this was carefully chosen to be light and fresh yet masculine and modern.
A faux suede blind was chosen for the large window, that gave privacy and the teal curtains lifted the room and completed the window treatment. The green headboard was re upholstered in faux suede to compliment.
The accessories chosen were bold and striking to contrast bedding and furnishings.
A bedroom should always be inviting and a place of retreat and Jack was really pleased with the outcome of this makeover.
